YINAN is a ready-to-wear and couture collection that centers on dressing as an act of self-empowerment. Founded by Anna Zhou in 2020, located in the Manhattan. YINAN is the designer's given name, translating to "a precious piece of art."
Exquisite materials, precise details and meticulous craftsmanship are cornerstones of YINAN's collections across ready-to-wear, accessories, and jewelry. With a focus on personal narrative and bold, avant-garde proportions, pieces are formed through nuanced explorations in identity and emotion.
ABOUT THE DESIGNER
Originally from China, Anna Zhou's artistry was shaped early on by memories of her father, a sculptor, at work in his studio. Zhou began her own fine arts training at the age of 13, and during her adolescence would continue to develop a signature creative vision that was both audacious and instinctive.
Anna studied fashion design at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, and later honed her craft at Marchesa's bridal atelier. Anna received global acclaim for her work after appearing in the fashion competition show Project Runway as a top designer in both Season 19 and 20. Her work has been featured in such publications as Vogue, Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, L’Officiel and Women’s Wear Daily.
